Art has always been a wanderer. He made his home along the old rail line, now the Columbia trail. Tucked among roots, stones, and moss, where gnomes and fairies quietly leave their marks. As the trains stopped running and people returned on foot, Art noticed something new…curiosity!
He watched families slow down. He saw people notice tiny houses and handmade surprises left by neighbors and strangers alike. Art realized the trail wasn’t just a path through town, it was a place where imagination lived in plain sight.
Curious as ever, Art followed the trail into High Bridge.
What he found surprised him. Creativity wasn’t just hiding in the woods. It was everywhere, in shop windows, on buildings, in studios, and in hands that make things. Art decided it was time to help people see what was already there.
Nowadays Art the Gnome wanders from the Columbia trail into town, inviting visitors to explore, discover, and connect.
When you spot Art the Gnome in a business window it means you’re standing somewhere creativity lives. Follow him from stop to stop, and you’ll experience High Bridge the way Art does: as a place where art, nature, and community meet.
